Ava Catherside is a London-based brand that applies a monochromatic palette to razor-sharp and understated, unisex silhouettes. Each separate piece grew from one single design, cut by hand with a blade and a ruler to create a series of cohesive, individual garments. The jackets, tops and trousers that make up LN-CC’s selection are crafted from plain and Casentino felted wool, a warm, waterproof fabrication originally used for monks’ tunics and peasant garb in the 14th century. The Ava Catherside AW12 collection is now available at ln-cc.com.

Our POMPOUS project is coming along quite nicely. We are coming to the final stages of production, just in time for our little break to Brazil. Thanks FARFETCH.COM. I would love to post the entire thing on here, but that would give it all away, but what I can share with you is the beauty.
We carried out three shoots, one guy’s editorial, and two girls. Although you probably can’t wait to see what make up we put on the male model, you’ll just have to wait and see I’m afraid.
I was inspired by the beauty looks on Anna Sui and Mary Katrantzou’s autumn/winter 2012 catwalk, (slyly hinting that the magazine features these two cities,) but also muses such as Edie Sedgewick and Japanese geishas.
We used a lot of differernt brands and products to create these looks including Mac Lipstick in Film Noir and Pink Noveau; Bumble and Bumble Shine On (and on) Spray, Surf Spray and Thickening Serum; La La Lashes Blue Velvet; Stila All Over Shimmer; bareMinerals Mineral Veil and Flawless Definition Mascara and, what we used most of, Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner.

I love when editorials are taken to a new level, and Daniel Jackson’s latest effort for Dazed & Confused does just that.
Inspired by the fashion illustrator Rene Gruau, this editorial was style by Karen Langley. Magical.
