2012 was a year that won’t be forgotten, not by me anyway. It was the year I met Rio, danced to Grimes, introduced Phillip Lim to my wardrobe and saw my work in ELLE. It was an interesting ride; met fantastic designers, worked with talented stylists, created POMPOUS Magazine and listened in on the most intriguing interviews by some of the fashion industry’s greatest.
So here we are in the first week on 2013. (Fuck!) January is a time to make resolutions, break those resolutions and then try to deal with the guilt and realisation that maybe some goals are just too far out of reach. To try and break this annual pattern of mine, I decided this year I would make my new year resolutions realistic and even saw myself put the first, and now second, into practise today. This morning I burnt more than 1000 calories at Bikram yoga, and this post is my first in two months – yes, I let it get that bad – but just like with yoga, my puns and my buns may be a little shaky, but once I get back into the swing of it, the stretches will become deeper, more effective, and so will the blog posts.
To kick off the year, I thought I would take a look at the ratchet people who inspired us most in 2012, and those whose work we cannot wait for in 2013.
