Marina London, the silk focused contemporary brand who I recently interviewed – read here – is opening a pop-up in London’s Covent Garden. The store, which launches today, will be open until the June 24th. If, like me, you are a fan of the emerging designer Marina Guergova, then head on down to get yourself some fabulous wardrobe staples.
ELLE UK’s Edited By The Interns 2013
Thursday, May 16, 2013
Last year I was extremely lucky to be part of ELLE UK’s first Edited By The Interns initiative. 11 lucky interns were chosen and we got to spend the summer working with the talented ELLE team, putting together what ended up being a very special issue. I learnt so much, but most of all it gave me the confidence to push harder and find my place in this busy industry. Words can’t really explain how I felt seeing my first printed by-line in the pages of the biggest selling fashion magazine.
And now, it’s that time again, you can apply to be part of this years issue on the ELLE website. Explaining what it’s all about and how it helped shape our careers, Sophia Chemaitelli, Alex Murphy and I, who were last years Picture Editor, Editor and Features Editor respectively, feature in this behind the scenes video for a shoot which will be in next months pages. Moxham Pop-Up Store
Friday, May 3, 2013
Moxham is an emerging jewellery brand with a heavy-duty mission. The brand is growing from strength to strength and the latest venture, from the lovely designer Maddy [read interview here], is the pop-up store at 53 Monmouth Street. With industrial-looking decor and key pieces delicately displayed, the quaint boutique is exactly what I expected from the brand. Last night was the launch party, equipped with plentiful amounts of wine and a photobooth to try on key pieces. Not that I’m all about the goodie bag, but it featured a Moxham blend of coffee roasted by Square Mile that I just can’t wait to try.
The store will be open until May 24th, so that’s plenty of time to make an appearance.
Be Awesome
Thursday, April 25, 2013
Columnist and feature writer Hadley Freeman, who pens the weekly fashion column Ask Hadley for The Guardian, releases her second book today. Reading her tongue-in-cheek answers to readers’ trend related questions gives me the funny side of fashion that I adore.
Freeman has been working for The Guardian since 2000. In 2008 she published her first novel The Meaning of Sunglasses and today Be Awesome hits the shelves.
Be Awesome - Modern Life for Modern Ladies features topics such as ‘How to read women’s magazines without wanting to grow a penis’ and ‘Beyond the armpit: a guide to being a modern-day feminist.’ That’s all I need, I have to read it. Amazon.
Pin Up Pop Up
Thursday, April 18, 2013
One affordable jewellery brand that has been on my radar for some time now is cutely named Wolf & Moon. Handcrafted by Fine Artist Hannah Davis, the collections feature pieces made from acrylic and wood, laser cut into adorable designs. You can buy online but I just found out that Wolf & Moon will be available at the Pin Up Pop Up this weekend.
The Pin Up Pop Up is being run by Today’s Specials, a market stall showcasing the work of local UK-based designers amongst London’s eclectic street markets. This weekend they are collaborating with Kath’s Cakes to bring the lovely worlds of design and baking together is a shopping and eating extravaganza. Sounds pretty good, don’t you think. And on Sunday there will be a Tea Party, cake decorating masterclasses and paper hat making workshops. So if your my side of the Thames this weekend, here’s something to keep you occupied.
Seeking Love. Finding Overalls
Tuesday, April 16, 2013
One of my favourite bloggers, Leandra Medine aka Man Repeller has written a book. I haven’t read it, but that’s because you can’t yet. It’s being released in September but you can pre-order on Amazon now. If the book is written in a style only half as witty as the daily post’s on Man Repeller, then its sure to be an great read. Leandra states that the book contains many weird stories including her first engagement in sexual intercourse. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy, shame publication is months away.
Hunger Issue 4 – Young Blood
Friday, April 5, 2013
Hunger Magazine, just one of the publications we are obsessed with, have launched their 4th issue which features some of our favourite GIRLS, Iggy Azalea and Grimes. Hunger have also been prodcing a series of editorials shot by up and coming photographers and will feature the latest in the magazine. The Young Blood Series is the initiative set up by Rankin to give emerging photographers a platform. Here are a few of our favourite images of the Young Blood shoots.
Fresh Start

I have been out of the blogging game for too long – BUT I’M BACK – with a new look, new outlook on life (maybe) and new content, so make sure you stay informed. I’ve made it oh so easy for you because if you glance up you can find links to all my social platforms just below the header. I’ll be commenting on life, as I know it, as well as all the usual fashion, music, literature and films I like to ramble on about. If you haven’t done so already, why not pop your email into the subscribe box on the right, that way you’ll never miss a post.
In the words of a certain sibling of mine, N.O.A is now “bigger, bolder, more violent much more sexual.”
Louis Vuitton – Prêt-à-Porters
Sunday, November 4, 2012
This fashion film was directed by John Wright, the London-based photographer who is mostly known for his portraits, in conjunction with Louis Vuitton’s AW12 Collection. This, however, shows he knows how to do so much more with a camera… Check it out.
